Before we go any further, it would be useful if you would complete the following quiz. We will use the results later on when we come to the practical application of the method:

Answer as honestly as you can:

Question one:

To what extent do you think you could increase your yearly income?

a) Not very much.

b) Trying hard I could probably double it.

c) I could earn 5 or 6 times my present income if I really wanted to.

d) I could be in the top one percent of income earners if I decided that this was what I wanted to do.

Question two:

When was the last time you had a holiday?

a) Within the last 12 months.

b) Within the last 2 years.

c) Within the last 5 years.

d) More than 5 years ago.

Question three:

Do you wish you could drive a better car?

a) I don't drive a car but wish that I could.

b) Yes.

c) No, I drive exactly the car I want. If I wanted a better car,

I would go out and buy one.

Question four:

How much time do you spend doing the things you want to do?

a) Hardly any; there are just too many other demands on me.

b) Not as much as I would like.

c) Quite a lot.

d) I take as much time as I think I need.

Question five:

Is there a place that you have always wanted to visit?

If Yes, answer question 5b

If No, answer question 5c

Question 5b:

Why have you not gone there?

a) I just can't afford it.

b) I have too many responsibilities.

c) Other people get to go to those places, not me.

d) I am going soon.

Why don't you want to travel?

a) I'm quite happy here at home.

Earlier on in this book I stated that you could get anything you wanted just by believing in it. At this stage, what do you think of this idea?

a) It makes a lot of sense. It backs up everything I've secretly believed for years.

b) It sounds interesting, but I don't quite believe it.

c) I have to say that I don't really believe it at the moment.

d) I don't believe it and it will take a lot to convince me.

When you go out to a show (theatre, opera, concert, rock-band etc.) do you buy:

a) The most expensive seats.

How often do you 'treat' yourself?

Question eleven:

How easy would it be for you to work half a week and yet earn twice the amount of money you would expect to earn in a full week?

b) It may be theoretically possible, but I don't see how.

d) Quite easy, if I put my mind to it.

Could you learn to fly an aeroplane?

a) Yes, given time and money.

b) I doubt it, I'm not very good at that sort of thing.

d) I'm not sure, but I'd give it a try.
